Cusanus Hochschule für Gesellschaftsgestaltung is honoured to announce Dr. Vandana Shiva as speaker in the lecture series on ‘The Political Economy of the Corona Crisis’ for the 7th of May, 2:15 p.m. (CEST). Dr. Shiva is a globally known advocate for women’s rights and grassroot environmentalism, a public intellectual and author of numerous books. She combines intellectual thoroughness with political action, thus contributing to a more equitable, sustainable and inspiring economy. In 1993 she received the Right Livelihood Award “for placing women and ecology at the heart of modern development discourse”, also known as the ‘Alternative Nobel Prize’.
In the talk Dr. Shiva will be interviewed by Dr. Silja Graupe, vice president of Cusanus Hochschule für Gesellschaftsgestaltung and professor for Economics and Philosophy, and share her unique perspective on the dangers caused and opportunities opened up by the Corona Crisis on a global scale.
The digital talk is a joint event between Cusanus Hochschule für Gesellschaftsgestaltung, Navdanja – Earth University founded by Dr. Shiva as well as the Right Livelihood Foundation (RLF). We are very grateful for the support of Alexander Reppening, a Cusanus Alumnus and Education Manager at RLF, who helped in setting up the talk.
