By A Team Foundation, 8 May 2019

Vandana speaking in London on the challenges of the globalised food system and the need for an enlightened and compassioned agrarian renaissance.

“The place to begin sowing the seeds of Earth Democracy is with Food, with a Living Seed. Only a Living Earth and our work in harmony with it give us the option of removing the past damage, by nourishing the soil, by conserving biodiversity and breeding the seeds that feed us and our extended family. Biodiversity is the only way to control pests and weeds without pesticides and herbicides. It’s by spreading biodiversity that the pollinators get food and thrive. From the seed we have the flower where the pollinators feed themselves and fertilize crops which become the fruit that feed us. Biodiversity teaches us the lesson of how economy should work” — Vandana Shiva
