A day-long immersive excursion on regenerative agriculture took place at Fattoria Faraoni, in the countryside around Sutri. The participants, a group of young students, had the opportunity to explore a local food system with high regenerative potential.
The program was designed to offer the younger generation a hands-on experience of an agricultural model that respects the Earth and contributes to building food sovereignty, with a special focus on the role of cattle grazing in regenerative systems. From the very start, participants engaged in practical activities such as a cheese-making workshop, contact with animals, milking, and a session on the sustainability of food products.
Highlights of the day included the exploration of regenerative pastures—internationally recognised for their role in biomass accumulation and soil regeneration—led by Andrea Cippitelli, owner of the farm, and a session on food education with Nadia El Hage, expert in sustainability and food policy, where participants were introduced to tools for critically analysing the food we consume every day.
The experience inspired collective reflection on sustainability, food awareness, and production chains, offering students concrete tools to approach the world of food with a critical and informed mindset.
As emphasised by Navdanya International, regenerative agriculture—through the recovery of biodiversity and the care of soils—is a key strategy to address the climate crisis and secure future food systems. Practices such as regenerative grazing not only restore soil fertility but also increase the resilience of agroecosystems in the face of climate change.
