On November 16, 2023 the European Union is set to vote on renewing the license for the authorized use of glyphosate within EU territory for the next 10 years.

In many regions of the world glyphosate has now been banned due to devastating effects on people’s and the environment’s health.

Glyphosate has been found responsible for being one of the main culprits of the extinction of biodiversity, including bees, insects, birds and other wildlife, as well as being devastating to the soil microbiome.

Bayer-Monsanto, the creator of glyphosate, has now been sued for over $2.42 billion USD for having caused cancer to thousands of victims.

If the European Union is serious about its commitments to sustainable and organic agriculture, through the Farm to Fork policy then the renewal of glyphosate should be denied.

Just as it has in many other parts of the world.

We must return to biodiversity. Over the last 30 years Navdanya, along with thousands of others, has proven that organic, regenerative, and biodiversity-based agriculture provides the path forward to a truly sustainable and ecological future. That biodiversity-based agriculture that renews our soils, water, and health has the potential to feed the world while creating a future where our health and the health of the planet are central.

The Poison-free Food and Farming Campaign is an invitation to women and young generations, citizens and people in institutions, indigenous people everywhere, farmers, producers and consumers of food, local communities north and south, from the local to the global, who are already mobilizing to defend the earth and future generations, to create a unified movement for change.
Join us in becoming one voice in our rich diversity, to create poison free organic zones and local ecological food systems, that rejuvenate biodiversity, the soil and water, that create climate resilience and climate stability, that protect the health and well-being of our children and the heirs of all species.
