Shakti is drawn from the voices of women organic farmers of the Mahila Anna Swaraj (MAS) movement across India.

It documents their resilience and drive as seed keepers and protectors of seed freedom, and as cultivators of gardens of hope, a paradigm for food health & security.

It shares their stories in building on indigenous, sustainable forms of farming that have fought the legacy of debt and tragedy created by GMO corporations, and carried their communities through the challenges and uncertainties of the pandemic.

This 35-minute short film is a window into the grassroots work of Navdanya and Mahila Anna Swaraj, sowing an organic, women-led paradigm for our food future.
