Home > Officine Municipali Bracciano – Terrae Vivae Hub

Officine Municipali is a multipurpose civic space open to the whole community and one of the key venues of the Terrae Vivae initiative in the Lake Bracciano area. Co-funded by the European Union under the Lazio ESF+ Regional Programme 2021–2027, with the Municipality of Bracciano as beneficiary and Navdanya International ETS as managing partner, it is a place to meet, learn, collaborate and take part. Here, residents, young people, schools, farmers, associations and institutions can come together to find new ways of caring for and regenerating the land they share.

Through cultural activities, ecoliteracy programmes, agroecology initiatives, public dialogue and participatory planning, Officine Municipali helps foster new relationships, knowledge and collective action that strengthen the local social and ecological fabric.

A free coworking space, rooted in the community

Here, residents, professionals, students, associations and businesses can work, meet, learn and share ideas in a dynamic, green setting designed to nurture human connections, cultural growth and new opportunities.

An open, collaborative and free space where work, wellbeing and the local landscape meet. The coworking hub was created as a community hub dedicated to ecoliteracy and agroecology, to regenerating local ecosystems, and to engaging young people around local food systems and the ecosystems of Lake Bracciano.

A flexible space, open to everyone

The Officine Municipali community space and coworking area are open Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm, at Via Claudia 105.

The coworking area is made up of two main sections:

Smart Space

The indoor area, designed for everyday work and collaborative activities, includes:

  • A Coworking Area with fully equipped workstations
  • A Networking Area for breaks, meetups and socialising
  • A Thinking Lab, a multipurpose space for meetings, training, workshops and events

Thanks to its modular furniture, the space can easily be transformed into a classroom, agora, event hall, or venue for evening activities and community initiatives.

Garden

The outdoor area offers smart-working stations surrounded by greenery, along with cultural events, markets, fairs and networking opportunities open to the public.

A shaded canopy, designed to accommodate future solar panels, will make the Garden a sustainable space that can be enjoyed all year round.

Services and facilities

Users will have free access to:

  • Fibre and Wi-Fi connection
  • Indoor and outdoor workstations
  • Shared monitors and PCs
  • Audio-video equipment
  • Meeting and training spaces
  • A calendar of community events and initiatives

There will also be an innovative “coffice” (coffee + office) service focused on cutting food waste, run in partnership with local businesses: food, fruit and produce recovered from daily surpluses will be made available to users, in a spirit of sustainability and solidarity.

A community platform

The coworking space is not just a place to work, but a genuine platform for civic participation.

Through the HORTUS project, users can actively contribute to community life by offering their skills, support and time, through a system inspired by time banking — encouraging mutual exchange and social inclusion.

Events, training and innovation

The space will host initiatives dedicated to sustainability, entrepreneurship and celebrating the local area:

  • FOOD FEST
Farmers’ markets, tastings, talks and networking celebrating local produce and healthy eating.
  • ECOLAB
Workshops, educational programmes and co-design sessions on the environment, water, the circular economy and organic farming.
  • IN CAMPO
Guidance and support for entrepreneurship in green professions, agrifood, experiential tourism and local innovation.
  • SERRA DIGITALE
A social digital help desk supporting residents in using online services, with a particular focus on digital inclusion and support for older people.

A better way to work

The coworking space aims to support a healthier balance between personal and professional life, offering an accessible, inclusive space immersed in nature.

Workstations can also be booked for short-term use, with priority given to commuters, parents with young children and people with disabilities — making agile working a real opportunity for wellbeing and participation.

More than just a workspace, this coworking hub is a place to build relationships, share skills and imagine the future of the local area together.
