A webinar drawing together the prospective law of Ecocide and a corresponding case – the monoculture hazelnut industry<\/a> in Tuscia, Central Italy.<\/p>\n

A screening of the acclaimed short film Omelia Contadina (A Farmer’s Eulogy)<\/a> by Alice Rohrwacher and Artist JR will be followed by a panel discussion between key voices from academia, law, agriculture and the local community.<\/p>\n

The discussion will reflect upon how intensive hazelnut farming causes water, air, and soil pollution, as well as loss of biodiversity, food sovereignty and food safety and what preventative measures<\/a> could mitigate this situation?<\/p>\n

Our aim is to provoke a dialogue around the legal framework needed to prevent ecosystemic pollution damage by referring to a live example where continuing abuse could become catastrophic.<\/p>\n
